Carmel Beach!

What in tar-nations....!!! It is already August! Yikes! Well here's a late post (again).

It all started on the 7th of July. Mommy had told Daddy that she wanted to celebrate her barkday early by us having a fun doggy day out at Carmel Beach. She read that it was a nice beach...so that morning, I got wind of it! Yes! Let's go!

After a SUPER long car ride (it was supposed to be under 1.5 hrs but ended up 2 hours cos of holiday traffic. Boo...), we reached! Nice beach! Weather was kinda cold and foggy that day though. My humans weren't too excited about that. Not that it bothered me at all. =)

The sand was REALLY soft. Kinda reminded me of the sand in Sentosa, Singapore. I spent my time wandering off with daddy...

...only to run back to mommy...

...and do it all again!

Soon Daddy muttered something about water and the beach so back on the leash I went, cos I ain't too fantastic a swimmer... I gotta tell you that THE WATER IS COLD!!! Something about the Pacific Ocean? Phooey.

We met this nice man who told us about a great place to bathe me. What?!?!?!

Why would he know that? Well these are his dogs and his family is in the background. His dogs LOVE the beach and the sand. Can you tell? (breed name is unpronounceable!)



No time to waste! I'm off again to explore this extensive beach!

Plenty of surfer dudes, dudettes and kids. The cold water has no effect on them. They must be aliens.



Seriously. Did i tell you the water IS COLD?!?!?!

A quick retreat to dry sand and a dog's gotta do what a dog's gotta doooo.



And he gets his human to be responsible for his doo. ;)

Daddy thought it was funny. Daddy told me he likes being buried in sand too. Mommy doesn't. Haha!

Well, it was the BEST beach day ever! I know there's more great beach days to come! yes yes! I like the beach!

Las Palmas Park again!

Yeah! Summer is here! I LOVE summer...yes it is hot and all that but so far it has been great for me cos I get to go out more! And this year, Mommy is staying with me all summer (not like last year!).

We went to Las Palmas Park again. I like this park. There are quite a number of dog loving people here and the grass is nice and green!

Mommy brought the picnic mat and laid it on the grass just at the edge of the tree's shadow. Of course, I know what's important. HER BAG! (cos there's always some doggy treats for me in there!!!)

Now if just give her my goofy grin, she'll not be able to resist my mind-meld and gimme some treats!

Couple of treats and plenty of drools later, I started noticing this awesome thing behind me!!! See it?

I know what I want for Christmas...This big ol' tree in MY BACKYARD!!!

Ok...I've used up Mommy's goodwill..hee... time to mind meld Daddy into walking me!

"Mommy!!! Can you see me from waaaay over there???"

"How about now???? Can you still see me????"

"What the....! Daddy is cheating! He started running back!!!!"

"Huff puff huff puff....Mommy...I'm coming!!!"

Teehee!!! Silly running face!

Outing to San Fran with Hammer's mommy!

So remember Aunty Evelyn coming over? This entry is about the day that she brought me to San Francisco! (ok...so mommy drove, but it was Aunty Evelyn's idea to bring me out...afterall she was pawsome enough to come visit me!)

So here we are, in the car. I'm sitting in the back with my seatbelt on. Yes, I have a seatbelt harness. Useful stuff for preventing me from climbing to the front. Which according to mommy is extremely dangerous cos I'd be in the way. =P

We got to the usual car park that was next to Joe's Crab Shack and I wanted to climb out. Pfft! The seatbelt harness was still on! Better be patient... ;)

The humans were hungry and so was I. I couldn't focus on posing...I smelt FOOOOOOD....

Glorious food! This was what the humans ate.

 I got a piece of lettuce or two and my own dog treats under the table. 

What? Did someone say OmmmNommmm???

Oh, it was just that pigeon squawking at me...taunting me... Humph.

No time to waste! We had to go SHOPPING! (What is that? Mommy and Daddy never brings me shopping. New experience here!)

And off to dog friendly Pier 39 we went! 

This, my doggy friends, is called SHOPPING. I got to enter the stores with Aunty Evelyn. She found me useful to help measure sizes when shopping for her nephews and nieces. Wonder if they are furry?

More shopping! I LOVE this store. This shop sells doggy-related stuff! They rock!

Towards the end of the shopping day. Mommy was tired. All that stuff in the bags are Aunty Evelyn's SHOPPING. If shopping means I get to go out and be in the stores...then I guess I like shopping. If it is waiting outside the shops...don't think i'd like it. Today, though, I liked it very much!

Well, that's it! Homeward bound with my seatbelt on again. Dear Hammer, I hope you hug your mommy everyday! I love you Aunty Evelyn!

Aunty Evelyn came specially to visit ME!!!

I got a visitor! Aunty Evelyn, Hammer's mommy, flew in just to visit me!!! I'm such a lucky corgi! ;)

First thing she did after hugging me was to show me a brand new toy! My mommy said that it was going to die and Aunty Evelyn let me go ahead and have fun by destroying it!

Let me teach you how to dissect a rope duck. First you start by tearing a nice gaping hole at one of it's armpits like so:



Then use one paw to firmly hold it in position while surgically disemboweling it.

If you get tired, con a human to hold one end for you and start playing tug-o-war!

Never forget to occasionally check to see if more fluff can be removed.

 



Then resume tug-o-war!!!



What's that you say? I am allowed to BEHEAD it???? Can you see the crazy sparkle in my eye?

ATTACK!!!!!!!!!!!!

GAH!!!!!!!!!! Show no mercy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hee hee...!!! Success is such sweet savour!

Whew! Not bad considering I played with the toy for...i think 40mins? ;)

She is home!

I am happy!!! I got to fetch mommy back from the airport! I was so stunned to see her in the flesh. ;D woohoo!!!

I got lots of hugs and kisses. And I got Furminated! I had that coming cos shed all over her lap the entire drive home. Hee.



She Furminated me on wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. The photo shows how much fur is removed in one fell swoop. Multiply that by 3! I should be bald. Mommy should make a corgi fur coat.



And then she just HAD to dremmel my nails. Why? Ugh. I wanna die. :( luckily it seems like mommy and daddy have improved their skills and the session of nail dremmeling went by pretty fast.



Now my parents want to me take a self portrait with them... After all that torture????

Well I hear that something fun is going to happen for me soon! Can't wait!
