Thanksgiving Roadtrip 2009 - San Diego (Part 1)

Thanksgiving weekend was nice cos Daddy got to be with us for a nice long weekend. I knew that something was up cos there was packing and my crate that I flew into the US with came out and was cleaned up and i saw my food being packed too.

Before i knew it, i was wooshed into the car! ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm super fidgety when I'm excited.

Still fidgeting. Trying to look out the front of the car.

Wow...that looks like a long road.

This is me spying from over mummy's shoulder.

See all the STUFF? They pack messy don't they?

After many hours, they stopped for lunch at a Carls Jr that was off Highway 5. And...no, i didn't get any burgers. (Mummy: in case any of you are thinking I was cruel, Benny had his own treats for lunch)

ANd we're off again! Family photo! Cheese!

Fidget fidget.

Still driving...getting sleepy...

Oops, the sun is coming in! Luckily I found a nice shady spot next to my crate.

Zzzz....my nose is getting burnt. =P

I give up. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

I got restless after about 7 to 8 hours on the road. I jumped onto Mummy's lap. Hey look! There's a nice icy cold drink!

See, more road...ROAD!

Think i'll fall asleep on her lap then.

Oh great, holiday traffic jam. Lasted like....30 mins i think?

Restless. Wonder if I can flop on over to Daddy.

More road! Wow, super highway! 8 lanes in total!

The sun was setting...weather getting cold. Are we there yet?

Oh! we reached the hotel. This is my bed at night so that I don't poo/pee on the carpet.

Its a nice huge crate. =)

Anyway, that's all for Part 1. Better and more interesting photos to come in parts 2 and 3. The next blog entries will show my walk through San Diego (think its along Harbor Drive near San Diego Bay & a walk through Old Town) and also my crazy fun at the Dog BEACH!!!! =P

An Early Xmas Present!

Wowie! This year I got some Xmas gifts early! =D Mummy said that this package from USPS was addressed to ME! *grin* Its from Hammer and Aunty Evelyn! *hug!*

*pray* Dear Lord, please bless the human and dog friend who sent me this gift. Hee....and I hope I can use it or even better...EAT IT. =P

Last pose. Please let me open it mummy!

Oooo....look! There's 2 green packages and one treat thing! Yippie! And yes, I got the facial expression of a dog who is trying VERY VERY hard not to eat the treats.

Here's a close up. Its Pumpkin Pie Dog Biscuits. I think its complimentary from the people who made the stuff that Aunty E and Hammer bought for me.

Here's my first model pose. Not so good...i'm not used to strutting my stuff. heh.

Daddy says that I look like Robin Hood. =P Or was it little red riding hood. hmm...

The jacket wraps around my chest and the front. It fits perfectly! Mummy says its custom-made to fit my lanky body with my big chest. No wonder she was measuring me a few weeks ago.

Here's what it looks like. The hood portion is purely for show. Hee...my ears and head are too large.

Nice tags!

This is the other one that Aunty E and Hammer gave me. This one is thicker (double lined) and more manly. Mummy says I gotta wear this when we go Yosemite this winter...wonder what is in Yosemite that makes me need to wear this. *scratch head*

Don't I look like such an adventureous outdoorsy dog? =D

Many many thanks Aunty E and Hammer! Happy holidays to everyone! Its December! =)

Furball update: 8 balls in 3 weeks. =)

Its AUTUMN!

Its autumn and mummy's been complaining about my shedding. Its getting lesser now, in case you were wondering. =P

Anyway, she should also complain about the shedding trees you know. To be fair. I like the colour of the trees now. They seem to change to a nice redder colour, kinda like my colour. *ego*

Here's the tree at the In and Out drivethrough. Isn't it pretty?

Yeps, I go for the drivethrough rides. =D Hee...they always smell SO nice!

If you look beyond the fence, you can see the trees across 101 Highway. There's yellow...green...orange...red!

Here's the view from the entrace to the apartment complex.

The workers have been sweeping up all the leaves on the floor. See the bags? They are everywhere!

I'm posing under this giant "berry" tree. You can't really see them, but there's hundreds of clumps of berries on that tree. Wonder if I can eat them....

This is a super shedding tree.

Yes, its my favourite tree. It sheds...I shed. =D

I look over my right shoulder...yep, there's leaves there.

And over my left shoulder....yep more leaves there too!

Wow! A bald bush....amazing!

I wonder if all these leaves once belonged to that bald bush....

Last photo! Isn't autumn pretty? I like it. Its nice and cool and that means I had to snooze on the bed for longer periods of time now.

(Mummy: fyi, dogs are red-green colour blind...so all those colours Benny "sees" were described to him by me. =D It is getting colder now. Soon Benny will have his winter coat and that'll be sight to behold.)

Wowie! 100 Followers Giveaway!

I'm so envious of Gibson the corgi. His blog has 100 followers! Wow... wonder if we'll ever be that popular as that cute guy.

Here's the link to his blog: http://corgibutts.blogspot.com/2009/11/100-followers-giveaway.html

Kudos Gibson! And happy shoe hunting! (Mummy: Benhur! No! Naughty boy, do NOT encourage other dogs to do that. tsktsk.)

When Uncle G and Aunty C came to visit.

Soon after mummy and daddy came home, I had even more fun people to say hi too! I remember Uncle G and his then girlfriend, now wife, Aunty C from back home in Singapore. They came over to visit me during their honeymoon! I'm so flattered! *blush*

This is me inviting them into my home!

Of course, the poor humans were so jet lagged....that they soon fell asleep. I slept next to Uncle G's long feet.

After which I decided it was too far away from nicer smelling Aunty C...so I moved to a more central spot. =D

Anyway, I didn't get to go out with them but Mummy did join them for a day in San Fran. Here's some pics:

First and most impt place is JAMBA JUICE! You can see their happy faces showing how eager they are to place the order!

When they got to San Fran, first thing to do is look for lunch. Mummy suggested that they try Joe's Crab Shack...Here's the two of them trying to look HUNGRY!

And here's mummy and Aunty C trying to poke each other?

After that they explored Chinatown... take a look at the Double Dragon Massage. Mummy says she'll open a Triple Dragon dog massage centre! =P

Of course, there were PLENTY of doggies in San Fran. Here's a beagle and black terrier.

Here's 2 larger doggies. The owners were nice and even said thanks to mummy for giving her dog a pat!

A Shih Tzu mix of some kind. These 4 dogs were spotted with a window of less than 10 mins, so you can imagine the number of doggies here! Its so nice.

One last picture: Mummy asks every one to notice the "cute" bird that is "resting" on the head of the statue. hee!

Wonder if i'll ever get to WALK the streets of San Fran.... *hint hint*. ;)

Furmination update: 6 gigantic balls of fur within less than 2 weeks. *ah choo!*
